Contribution Terms of Service

Thank you for contributing your stories, images, video, social media posts, and/or other media to the Macalester College Archives, which is developing a digital collection documenting the experiences of Macalester community members and the impact of COVID-19 on Spring semester 2020.

By submitting content to the Archives and this digital collection under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license, you are granting Macalester College permission to collect, preserve, reproduce, share, and use that content for educational, research, and promotional purposes, in all media in perpetuity. You retain ownership and copyright in the materials you contribute.

Material you submit must have been created by you and not copied from or based, in whole or in part, upon any other photographic, literary, or other material, except to the extent that such material is in the public domain, or you have permission of the copyright owner, or its use is allowed by “Fair Use” as prescribed by the terms of United States copyright law. If you would like to refer or nominate material which you do not own, please send us info using this Google nominating form.

You must be 18 years of age or older to contribute to this site, and materials you submit must not violate any confidentiality, privacy, security or other laws. We reserve the right to discard or mark any submission private that we identify as offensive, inappropriate, or for other reasons within our professional judgement. Macalester College is not obligated to include your content in this project or preserve it in perpetuity.

If you select “Publish my contribution on the web” on the form, your material may be published (with or without your name, depending on what you have indicated) online as part of digital collections or exhibits. Otherwise please know that your contributions will still be accessible to researchers accessing the College Archives through usual processes.

Due to the nature of this collection being around a public health crisis, be aware if you are contributing materials which may contain your sensitive personal information, including health information. You cannot submit materials which include personally identifiable health information about other people, even members of your own family, unless they have given permission via this Google form.

Please contact us at archives@macalester.edu if you have any questions.
