As Library Director I coordinate the activities and services of the DeWitt Wallace Library. One of my primary interests is in helping to foster increased collaboration between our research and instruction librarians and faculty to help improve student learning especially in the area of critical thinking and use of our scholarly resources. Another area of interest is in improving scholarly communication through support for open access, open educational resources, and library publishing initiatives. Our publishing initiatives include increasing awareness of open access textbooks as well as promoting publishing in open access journals and in the new open access monograph press focused on the liberal arts, the Lever Press. I recently completed a two-year term as a member of the Oversight Committee for Lever Press.
This blog is intended to serve as a means of communicating information about current initiatives and interests, items of interest related to changes in academic libraries, and other relevant topics.
